Absolutely agreed, that's what was best in chromosome, that and sharpshooter and sharpshooter proficiency giving 40% increase to weapon range, (+5 from sharpshooter and +3 from sharpshooter proficiency), that's what made the game fair, and it made sense, 15% to straight up damage from proficiency would put many guns in better places and would even make guns like CR and laser rifle worst and better against shield and armor. That damage profile is not beneficial to NPE at ALL. TAKE NOTES, RATTATI!.

Edit: Yes I understand that new players would be displaced, but if they stay in academy longer, get the hang of weapons, understand them, then everything should work out fine. And this makes every high RPM weapon in the game broken overnight, because DPS becomes the deciding factor in almost every engagement.
Not really, increasing a weapons profile already makes the game broken, its why guns like CR and ScR do far more damage than they ought to, changing their profile proficiency to damage proficiency would make them better balanced, because their losing DPS to a certain defense type, while improving a weapons base damage truly does nothing good for it, would you rather have +30 to armor and -15 to shields? Thats a pretty significant bonus, if it goes back to 15/15, and gets simply base damage, it won't effect time to kill in terms of killing ability, but gives the other party time to react, which in this case, would be helpful. (remember lasers and plasma become -10 +25 and -20 +35, that plus base damage, means energy weapons have a critical advantage of projectiles as even with base damage, a projectile can only do so much damage to shield.
